What is the club all about?

The purpose of this organization is to unite students from diverse backgrounds & organize programs by empowering students with techniques that eliminate stress, restore health and human values, create a sense of belongingness & work towards community service. The Meditation & Service Club is affiliated with The Art of Living Foundation, an international non-profit educational and humanitarian organization. On campus, it is recognized by Associated Students, Student Involvement and Mosaic to name a few. The Meditation and Service Club has in the past 3 years has achieved many milestones. Below is a list of our achievements:








  • 5 Yoga-Empowerment-Service Plus (YES+) courses benefiting almost 75 students on campus.
  • Organized iLead event on campus to nurture leadership qualities by instituting
  • Heroes of Humanity awards to many deserving campus leaders.
  • Organized around 10 events geared towards stress relief through games and interactive processes including meditation.
  • Actively participated in Student Organization faire as well as Student Leadership Conferences.
  • Established 1-1 mentoring as well as support groups for aspiring students.
  • Organized free Yoga sessions for the student community.


The club has invested the funds ($3000) that it received from Associated Students over the past 3 years in various advanced empowerment programs for deserving and aspiring students. The Club in its efforts to achieve the above-stated goals, would like to organize a grand event showcasing yoga and meditation in a very fun, casual and accessible manner. The Yoga Rave aims to bring together the campus community in a spirit of celebration, while educating the benefits of a healthy lifestyle.

What is meditation? Where did it come from?

Meditation is a mystery to some and incredibly practical to those that do it. Its something that anyone can do, and yet most people seem to have no idea how to meditate.
